Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was one of the Netherlands’ most prolific artists, a master of the Dutch Golden Age who produced thousands of paintings, etchings and drawings. One of his most famous works, The Night Watch, was in fact commissioned for our property in 1642.

Today, you will retrace his footsteps with a local guide, visiting his home and studio, the gothic Zuiderkerk, his family church that featured in his art, and the artists’ guild of De Waag, one of the oldest buildings in the city, which he also painted. Along the way, your guide will regale you with the rich details of his life, as well as his connection with our hotel.
